Externally, UMB OAA is the point of contact with the University System of Maryland (USM) and, through USM, other regulatory and legislative bodies on issues relating to faculty affairs, student affairs, and academic policy. Internally, it is the point of contact with the University's six professional schools — dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and social work — on faculty and student affairs and academic policy. It also provides traditional faculty and academic services.

SMS text Messaging Terms and Conditions

By opting in to receive text messages from the University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Medicine, you agree to the following terms:

  • The University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Medicine collects opt-in verbally at their locations or over the phone. Upon receiving your request, we will send a confirmation SMS letting you know you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive text messages from us. If you choose to rejoin the service, you may do so by signing up again as you did initially.
  • If you experience issues with the messaging program, you can reply with the keyword “HELP” for assistance. For additional support, you may also contact us directly at webmaster@som.umaryland.edu
  • Please note that mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and from you to us. Message frequency will vary depending on your engagement with the University of Maryland School of Medicine. For details about your specific text or data plan, please contact your wireless provider.
