About Dean Gladwin
Mark T. Gladwin, MD, is a vascular, heart and lung physician-scientist who was appointed the 31st Dean of the University of Maryland School of Medicine on August 1, 2022. He also serves as Vice President for Medical Affairs at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and holds the John Z. and Akiko K. Bowers Distinguished Professor Endowed Chair. He has a primary academic appointment in the School’s Department of Medicine and a secondary appointment in the Department of Physiology.
Dr. Gladwin is dedicated to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion, while leading advances and innovation in the areas of education, research, and clinical care.
