At Least One Month Advance of the Leave:

Scan and email a Scholar Fellow Leave of Absence Without Pay Request letter to McKinley Keegan, Administrative Specialist, mckinley.keegan@som.umaryland.edu.

Please use the Leave of Absence Without Pay Request Letter Template to draft the letter.

Include the Following in the Email:

A written request (within the email or as an attachment) from the fellow including:

• Start date of leave
• End date of leave
• Reason for leave (may be for personal reasons)

An attached scan of a signed letter using the Leave of Absence Without Pay Request Letter Template from your chair/director:

• Full name of fellow
• Fellow's supervisor
• Start date of leave
• End date of leave
• Reason for leave
• Indication of support

Upon Receiving Your Request

The OAA will seek Dean/Designee approval and UMB VPAA Office approval. You will be notified if there are any problems or of approval/denial as soon as possible.
