Alumni Services

The Office of Student Affairs is happy to assist our UMSOM alumni with post-graduation needs. If you are in need of assistance with any of the below areas or have any other questions, please reach out via email (studentaffairs@som.umaryland.edu) or by calling our office (410-706-7476).

MD Medical Education Verification Requests 

  • Graduates of SOM often need certification of their MD degree to apply for a license, to acquire hospital privileges, or for other purposes. 

Employer Request for MD Medical Education Verification

  • All employers must request Medical Education Verifications from the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) - Degree Verify We are listed under University of Maryland, Baltimore. (The employer is charged a minimal fee for the NSC service).

Enrollment/Degree Verification 

  • Students and alumni can request degree and enrollment verification through Myhub
  • If alumni require degree verification for their own personal business, contact the University Registrar at 410-706-7480. 

MSPE

  • Some agencies will want a copy of your Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE). 
  • Per policy, MSPEs cannot be provided to the student/grad.
  • MSPEs are identical to the one initially sent to your residency programs as a senior student with two modifications: The date of graduation is added, and courses for which grades were not available at the time of initial submission are added.
  • If able, please submit your MSPE request through the MIDUS application on ERAS
  • Non MIDUS requests can be submitted to OSA

Requesting Transcripts

  • Official transcripts are free of charge.  
  • Official transcripts are requested through Parchment.

Board Certifications

The Office of Student Affairs can only process State Board Certifications. All other requests are processed through the National Student Clearinghouse. To avoid delay in the processing of these forms and or approval, complete the applicant section in its entirety. There is no charge for this service.

Diplomas

  • If you need a replacement diploma, please contact the Office of the Registrar for more information. The fee for a duplicate diploma is $55, payable by check or money order only.
  • The Office of the Registrar provides more information regarding diplomas and certificates.
