Lung Transplant/Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (3-309-1194)

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking transplant pulmonologists to expand our transplant pulmonologist team. The lung transplant program is centered at the University of Maryland Medical Center and is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of professionals.  We are focused on providing exceptional care to patients with critical lung illnesses and developing cutting edge treatment. Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.  We offer competitive salary and benefits, as well as an environment supportive of professional development.  

This position requires an MD/DO degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent).  The successful applicant will be BE/BC in pulmonary and critical care, have experience in transplant pulmonology, have strong clinical and teaching skills, and be eligible to obtain an independent license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland. An interest in transplant-related clinical and/or translational research is encouraged.

Physician – Section Chief-Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine (3-309-1174)

The University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Baltimore VA Medical Center are recruiting a physician-scientist as the next Chief of the Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine Section at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. The Baltimore VAMC is affiliated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is located on campus, attached to the University of Maryland Medical Center by a walk-bridge. The Baltimore VAMC is an important training site for University of Maryland medical students, residents, and pulmonary and critical care fellows. The Baltimore VAMC also supports a busy research service that is integrated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

The associated University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty rank is expected to be at the Associate Professor or higher level; however, final rank will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. All candidates must have a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), be eligible to obtain an independent license to practice Medicine in the State of Maryland and be BE/BC in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.  The successful candidate should have an active, extramurally funded research program and a strong interest in teaching, career development, and building a strong academic Pulmonary Section.  Additionally, because this position is funded, in part, directly by the Baltimore VAMC, all candidates must be US Citizens.
