Online profiles provide key information about School of Medicine faculty to internal and external collaborators and the public.
Creating or Updating a Faculty Profile
Faculty members are required to maintain an up-to-date School of Medicine faculty profile and are provided with access to make the updates themselves. Faculty also have the option to designate a staff member to do it on their behalf.

The faculty profile database stores a wide range of information about School of Medicine faculty, including:
- Academic Titles, Administrative Appointments
- Contact Information
- Bio/Personal History
- Research Interests
- Clinical Specialties
- Faculty Portrait
- Lab Links
- Links of Interest

Faculty portraits are used for online profiles and campus publications such as SOMnews, The Buzz, the Voice and bulletins. If you have an official faculty portrait that meets standards, it should appear automatically on your profile. Faculty portraits are added to faculty profiles by the SOM photographers. They are not uploaded using Terminal Four (T4).
Official faculty portraits are taken FREE of charge at your convenience by School of Medicine photographers. The studio is located on the first floor of the Bressler Building (655 W. Baltimore Street, Room 1-009).
You may stop by the studio anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays. No appointment is necessary, although you may wish to call ahead to make an appointment (410-706-7808). It should take about 5 minutes.
As requested by Dean Reece, please wear the following:
- Male Portraits: Suit and tie, or a white coat and tie
- Female Portraits: Professional attire for women, or a white coat
