60th Anniversary Celebration
The 60th anniversary of the department was celebrated in grand style on September 16, 2010 with a gala at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor hotel. After a day full of learning at a special symposium on psychiatric issues sponsored by the department, faculty, staff and friends danced the night away and shared memories of all the great work the department has done over the years. There were special tributes to Dr. Walter Weintraub, founder of the Combined Accelerated Program in Psychiatry; former chair Dr. John Talbott; and the Children's Mental Health program, and each guest received a copy of the department's history book, Changing Times, Changing Minds (Order your copy).
