The MD/Master in Public Policy (MD/MPP)

The MPP degree is awarded by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).  The MPP will provide opportunities for medical students to expand their knowledge and skills into the field of public policy.  The drive for evidence-based medicine requires analytical capabilities concerning administrative data.  Students will specialize in Health Policy, learning 1) techniques for evaluating needs across a population, 2) about policy changes and their effects, and 3) about the medical needs of specific groups.  The knowledge gained in this program will help physicians contribute to evaluating health policy.
