Wonder Drake, MD, has been named Professor of Medicine and Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Director of the Sarcoidosis Program at UMSOM, and faculty member in UMSOM’s Department of Medicine. She joins UMSOM from Vanderbilt University where she was Professor of Medicine and Professor of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology.

William F. Regine, MD, FACR, FASTRO, FACRO, the Isadore & Fannie Schneider Foxman Chair and Professor of Radiation Oncology has been appointed to the executive role of Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at UMSOM and President of University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. (FPI). He will continue in his leadership roles as Chair, Department of Radiation Oncology, and Executive Director of the Maryland Proton Treatment Center (MPTC).

Claire Fraser, PhD, Dean E. Albert Reece Endowed Professor and Professor of Medicine and Microbiology and Immunology at UMSOM will step down from her position as Director of the Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS), following her distinguished career as a pioneering leader in genomic research, who forever changed microbiology and launched a new field of study – microbial genomics.

Curt I. Civin, MD, the Philip A. Zaffere Distinguished Professor in Regenerative Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics and Physiology, will step down from his position of Associate Dean for Research at UMSOM and devote more time to stem cell and cancer research projects in his continuing role as Director of UMSOM’s Center for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine.

Jessica Brown, PhD, Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health, has been appointed as the new Director of the Clinical and Translational Research Informatics Center (CTRIC) effective May 1, 2023, replacing J. Kathleen (Kate) Tracy, PhD.

J. Kathleen (Kate) Tracy, PhD, Professor and Vice Chair for Research Services, and the Director of the Clinical and Translational Research Informatics Center (CTRIC) within the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, will transition to her new role as Professor and Vice Chair for Research Services, who will become Professor of Medicine and Senior Associate Dean for Research at the University of Vermont.

Jessica Mong, PhD, Professor of Pharmacology has been named Assistant Dean for Graduate & Post-Doctoral Studies. Joni Prasad, PhD, Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, has been named Assistant Dean for Research Affairs and Conflict of Interest Officer.
