Residency Information
In-Patient Service
The Family Medicine In-patient Service is an active service that usually serves about 50-65 patients per month. We care for patients who have a wide variety of medical problems and range in age from newborn to elderly. The team consists of one attending physician from the Family Medicine staff, a first year, a second year and a third year resident, along with a fourth year medical student. This setting provides continuity of care for Family Medicine patients who need hospitalization and provides education for residents and students.
Out-Patient Service
The physicians of the Department of Family Medicine see out-patients at University Family Medicine Associates, PA clinical area, located in 29 South Paca Street at the corner of Lombard and Paca Streets.
House-Call Program
The house-call program sees homebound patients for chronic care and occasionally for acute problems. Patients are seen by a physician with a resident or medical students.
Graduate Division
The Department has one of the largest residency training programs in Family Medicine in the country. We have graduated more than 300 family physicians, who are practicing in all possible practice types from coast to coast. The three-year training program allows our residents to become highly skilled practicing physicians. Our residency is nationally known for producing excellent family physicians. Dr. Fletke is the Residency Director.
