Primary Care Day
All schools and the entire University of Maryland Baltimore campus were invited to attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s second annual Primary Care Day on Friday, April 28, 2017. The event took place from 12:00pm- 3:30pm in the HSF II Auditorium. There was a keynote address from 12:00-2:00 and the first annual Primary Care Research Poster session followed from 2:00-3:30. Poster presentations were on topics related to primary care research from all professional schools on the UMB campus. The poster session theme was Issues in Urban Primary Care.

Diana Carvajal, MD, MPH discusses her poster “How can Primary Care Providers Best Support Contraceptive Decision-making? A Qualitative Study Exploring the Perspectives of Baltimore Latinas” with a colleague. Research Division member Beth Barnet, MD also collaborated on this research.
Weyinshet Gossa, MD explains her poster “Practice Transformation Networks: Transforming Practices for Quality and Cost-efficient Health Care” to a poster session attendee.
