About Us

Vision

To set the academic and industry standard for imaging core quality and reliability.

Mission

Improving the quality of processing, storage, analysis and interpretation of medical imaging in research.

About UsGoals & Objectives

The Vascular Imaging Core (VIC) Lab at the University of Maryland is a state-of-the-art, fully-staffed imaging core lab that independently analyzes vascular imaging. The VIC serves to interpret and analyze pre-procedural, procedural, and post-procedural imaging for single-center and multi-center, prospective and retrospective investigational studies.

The VIC’s purpose is to help determine the safety and efficacy of medical treatments for various vascular pathologies including, but not limited to, aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, traumatic injuries, peripheral arterial disease, venous disease, hemodialysis access, and carotid artery disease. The VIC offers objective, third-party processing, interpretation and storage of imaging data for numerous clinical trials and helps with the development of imaging protocols.

The VIC is led by Dr. Brajesh K. Lal, who is actively involved in multiple clinical trials in patients with vascular disease. Dr. Lal’s areas of clinical interest include carotid artery disease, venous disease, peripheral arterial disease and hemodialysis access.
