Abstract Submission

Event poster sessions will provide the opportunity for individuals to show their research, and offers an excellent venue for an informal discussion with meeting attendees. Prizes will be offered to recognize outstanding abstracts submitted in the categories of basic and clinical research.

Deadline

The deadline for submissions is October 22, 2019, 11:59 PM ET.

Abstract Limit

An individual can submit up to two abstracts as first author.

Character Limit

There is a 350 word count limit, including title and headers listed below. The font should be Times New Roman; font size - 12 pt., with single spacing and one inch margins. Only one figure or table is allowed for each abstract submission.

Title

The title should be centered and entered in ALL CAPS. Do not put your title in quotation marks.

Authors

Please enter all authors below the title. Please include their degrees.

Body

The body must include the following headers in bold:

  • Background
  • Objective
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Tables and Images

You are allowed one table or one image with your submission and it should appear at the end of your abstract. Tables must be editable tables. For images, TIFF and JPEG files
are preferred.

References

You may list up to five references on a separate page following the abstract. References will not be included in the word count.

To Complete Your Submission

Please email a PDF of your abstract to Kelly Sikorski at ksikorski@som.umaryland.edu. Please title your email “STAR Celebration Abstract Submission." Abstracts selected for poster presentations will be notified by email on November 7, 2019.

Award

Monetary awards will be available to recognize outstanding abstracts submitted in the category of basic and clinical research.
