Biosketch

Sally earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Johns Hopkins University and her Masters of Science in nurse-midwifery and gender-related studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She is board-certified both as a nurse-midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner. 

Sally joined the University of Maryland Faculty Practice in 2021, from a busy private midwifery practice in Bel Air, Maryland. Prior to her midwifery career, Sally worked as a nurse in a variety of settings, including the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and public health.

She also coordinated clinical research studies at the National Institutes of Health. She is passionate about furthering evidence-based practice through clinical research, particularly how to best partner with patients to reach their goals for reproductive health and birth.  She is also enthusiastic about promoting the midwifery model of care in medical and midwifery education.
