On January 7th, 2019 the UMSOM Curriculum Council hosted a Curriculum Retreat to kick off curriculum renewal planned for 2020. The retreat was attended by 96 faculty, students and house staff broadly representing multiple disciplines as well as the basic and clinical sciences.

Curriculum Retreat Consensus: Actualizing the Renaissance Physician: lifelong learners who are clinically excellent and possess humanism, professionalism, scholarship, leadership, critical thinking skills and attention to social justice and diversity. We will cultivate and value our educators, rethink testing and grading and focus on wellness while maintaining excellence in USMLEs and the NRMP.

On July 1st, 2019 the workgroups formed after the Curriculum Retreat submitted their final reports to the UMSOM Curriculum Council. The summaries can be found in the provided links.
