Dr. Gordes graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1996, a Master’s degree in 1998, a Doctor of Science degree in 2003 and a Ph.D. in Public Policy, Evaluation and Analytical Methods in 2014.
Karen L. Gordes is the Director of Faculty and Students Affairs, Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science. Dr. Gordes graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1996, a Master’s degree in 1998, and a Doctor of Science degree in 2003 all from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy, Evaluation and Analytical Methods in 2014 from University of Maryland Baltimore County. Her experience includes clinical practice and academic instruction in the area of orthopedics and interdisciplinary education. She has participated in research projects as a clinical examiner for the Maryland Center of MS as well as within the UMB PT department. She has served as an item writer for the National Physical Therapy Licensure exam. Her current research interest is in interdisciplinary education and the evaluation of strategies for promoting student academic success and retention.
