Biosketch

Dr. Huijun Xu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She joined the faculty in 2015 following the completion of her medical physics residency at the University of Maryland. Dr. Xu currently serves as the lead physicist at the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Prince George’s County, Maryland, where she oversees clinical operations there. She also serves as the course director for the department’s physics lecture series, contributing to resident and trainee education.

Dr. Xu is board-certified in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics by the American Board of Radiology (2016). She earned her Ph.D. in Medical Physics from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013, where her research focused on probabilistic treatment planning optimization. She completed her undergraduate studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008 and conducted research at the Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences.
