Biosketch

Alexander G. Padovano, MD is a spine surgeon at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of North Carolina and went on to complete fellowship training in orthopaedic spine surgery at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Padovano’s clinical expertise includes the treatment of degenerative spine disease, spinal trauma, tumors, and infections. He is committed to providing safe, effective, and individualized care for each patient, with a focus on shared decision-making and the use of minimally invasive techniques when appropriate.

Dr. Padovano has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in leading journals, with research interests in degenerative spine disease, spinal trauma, infections, and tumors. He sees patients at University of Maryland Orthopaedics at Laurel and Columbia.
