Biosketch

I received my medical degree from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. After completing a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical School, I completed a fellowship in Maternal–Fetal Medicine in Ege University School of Medicine, Izmir, Turkey and a research fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. During this period, I performed a wide range of invasive fetal procedures, including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling, and cultivated a strong interest in fetal therapy.  I decided to pursue my career in the United States and repeated my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Bridgeport Hospital / Yale New Haven Health.

I have since joined the Division of Maternal–Fetal Medicine and Fetal Therapy at the University of Maryland School of Medicine as an Instructor and Fellow in Fetal Therapy and Complex Obstetric Surgery.  My research has focused on fetal interventions in monochorionic twin pregnancies, PAS and cesarean scar ectopic pregnancies,  pregnancy-specific conditions such as preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. My clinical interests encompass prenatal diagnosis, high-risk pregnancy, and invasive fetal procedures.
