Biosketch
Dr. Matthew Egyud is a specialty care physician in thoracic and general surgery. He has been practicing since 2013.
Prior to his faculty appointment, he completed his general surgery residency at Boston Medical Center in Boston, spending time at Boston Children’s Hospital and in the VA Boston system. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Heart Institute in Houston, with additional rotations at Texas Children’s Hospital, Ben Taub Hospital, VA Houston, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland, and sees patients at both University Medical Center and St. Josephs Medical Center.
Dr. Egyud has extensive experience with minimally invasive and robotic surgery techniques, and has published on innovative uses of this technology for thoracic conditions. He has broad experience managing both benign and malignant thoracic conditions.
