Biosketch

Dr. Citron is a general radiation oncologist who provides treatment for all cancer types. He has extensive expertise in radiation oncology technologies available at UM SJMC, including SRS, SBRT, accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI), and brachytherapy.

He graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, a foundation that drives his passion for radiation oncology technology and guides his approach to providing personalized, compassionate patient care. He earned his medical degree and completed a one-year internal medicine internship at Tulane University School of Medicine, followed by a residency at The University of Chicago, Department Radiation & Cellular Oncology. As part of his residency, Dr. Citron completed externships at The Seattle Prostate Institute and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Dr. Citron joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Along with his role as a faculty physician, he serves as Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center (UM SJMC), where he has cared for patients and served as Chief of Radiation Oncology for the past 20 years.
