Education and Training

Raymond H Flores received his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. He received his residency training in internal medicine from the University of Maryland Program where he also served as medical chief resident. He received his fellowship training in rheumatology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital/University of Maryland combined program.

Biosketch

Dr. Flores served as medical chief resident at the University of Maryland from 1983-84. He has been a member of the faculty since 1983. He has served as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine since 1999. He is currently Associate Division Head, Division of Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is also program director for the fellowship training program in rheumatology.

Research/Clinical Keywords

Dr Flores is a senior consultant in rheumatology. His clinical interests include inflammatory arthritis, inflammatory muscle disease, spondyloarthropathies, microcrystalline disease and vasculitis.

Awards and Affiliations

Dr Flores has received numerous teaching awards from the Department of Medicine and Medical School including fellowship Faculty Teacher of the Year awards and citations for musculoskeletal teaching during the second year of medical school. He also received the American College of Rheumatology Clinician Educator Award from 2002-04.

Professional Activity

Dr Flores maintains an active clinical practice in general rheumatology including offices at the University Health Center, Texas Station in Timonium, MD and Waterloo in Columbia, MD.
