Education

Education of medical students and residents remains a core focus of our division. Our residency program is comprised of over 150 residents in the areas of Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, EMIM, and various preliminary programs. Our clinical programs offer students and trainees opportunities to learn and practice medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and our affiliated hospitals and ambulatory centers.

Our hospitalist and ambulatory faculty serve as core teachers for the residents and medical students, providing mentorship and bedside teaching through direct patient encounters, lectures and conferences, and leadership of our residency programs, clerkship, and sub-internship.

Additionally, several of our Med-Peds faculty members possess dual appointments in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and offer education, ambulatory, and hospitalist care via both departments.
