Innovative Techniques and Modifications to Clinical Enterprise
Introduced regional anesthesia for appropriate cardiac surgery patients with a goal for enhanced recovery in our department. I have taught other cardiac anesthesia colleagues how to perform these regional blocks and it has become a fairly common practice in cardiac surgery patients at our institution.

Curriculum Development

As Rotation Chief, I have developed guidelines for residents undergoing the "Transplant & Vascular Anesthesia" sub-specialty rotation. In this guideline and by the end of the rotation, residents are able to have a better understanding of:

  • Expectation in the rotation
  • Clinical set up for vascular and transplant cases
  • Perioperative management of transplant and vascular patients
  • Coagulopathy specific to vascular and transplant patients- diagnosis and management
  • Blood and blood product transfusion<
  • Diagnostic tool such as viscoelastic tests and its application in vascular and transplant  patients
