Biosketch

Dr. Chaitanya Sambangi is a Pediatric Endocrinologist and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include the care of children and adolescents with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, with a particular interest in the use of diabetes technology to improve glycemic outcomes and quality of life for patients and families. Dr. Sambangi also cares for children with a broad range of endocrine disorders, including growth disorders, disorders of puberty, thyroid disease, pituitary and adrenal disorders, and other conditions affecting growth and development. 

Dr. Sambangi completed her fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree. Her academic and research interests include type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology, and understanding patient and family experiences with diabetes management. She is also involved in medical education and the teaching of medical students and residents.

Dr. Sambangi's research interests include type 1 and type 2 diabetes, diabetes technology, understanding patient and family experiences with diabetes management, and improving healthcare inequities in diabetes care.
