Welcome to the University of Maryland Emergency Medicine Residency Program
Since 1991, our residency program has trained the world's leading emergency physicians.
Our medical center hosts a categorical Emergency Medicine (EM) residency, as well as highly respected combined residencies. Our combined offerings include EM/Pediatrics, EM/Internal Medicine (IM), and EM/IM/Critical Care residencies. We are the only program in the nation to offer these programs.
All residents in our Department benefit from our comprehensive, education-focused training in a supportive environment.
We believe that strong leaders are well-rounded in all aspects of life.
Our residency motto is AEIOU:
positive Attitude
commitment to Education
Involvement in the profession
Outside life
Unity
We value hard work, a sense of duty to our patients/community/each other, and above all, kindness.
You are in the right place if you value these things too!
