About our Combined Emergency Medicine/Pediatrics Residency
Our five-year EM/Peds dual residency is a dynamic option for residents seeking double board certification in both Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics. Every year, we welcome two residents to our program. Our residents gain experience across diverse clinical settings—from emergency departments and Shock Trauma to the MICU, NICU, PICU, and outpatient pediatric clinics. While meeting all categorical requirements in both specialties, our distinctive schedule places a strong emphasis on critical care in both pediatric and adult populations.
Our graduates have gone on to find a range of career options...from community EM to academic EM and pediatric EM, with the option to practice general pediatrics as well. After completing our combined residency, our alumni have also pursued competitive fellowships in EMS and PICU, among other subspecialties. We are proud of the way our alumni thrive in diverse career paths, with roughly half pursuing academic medicine and the other half making an impact in community practice.
