Emergency Cardiovascular Medicine
The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine offers a one-year opportunity to hone skills in the management of critical cardiac diseases. We aim to develop unparalleled clinician educators with an expertise in cardiovascular emergencies. Graduates are well suited for a position in academics, clinical research, or directing a chest pain center. Our trainees have been recruited to join renowned institutions across the country and internationally.
Faculty Development
Our Faculty Development Program is designed for senior residents in one of the department's three residency programs who are interested in transitioning into academic leadership through the role of Chief Resident. This focused experience provides hands-on training in faculty-level responsibilities, including clinical operations, resident mentorship, and administration. Participants will gain practical skills in leadership, communication, scheduling, and quality improvement while working closely with program and departmental leaders. By bridging the gap between residency and faculty practice, this program equips future physician leaders with the foundational tools and experience needed to excel in academic medicine and contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of the department.
