Biosketch

As a gastroenterologist in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology for over 20 years, I have clinical expertise in diagnosis, evaluation, and management of patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. My expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound with fine needle aspiration and biopsy, endoscopic tumor resection and ablation, and stenting provide a vital resource for diagnosis, staging, and endoscopic management of various malignancies. I am an active member of the thoracic oncology program, which fosters an interdisciplinary approach to management of esophageal malignancies. My research projects in esophageal cancer, including molecular pathogenesis, staging, and post-treatment assessment arose through collaboration with members of this program.  I have been involved in a number of successful research projects involving the collection of clinical specimens during endoscopy and have shepherded these projects from conception through IRB approval to execution
