Keith R. Unger, MD

Dr. Unger is director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Service for the Department of Radiation Oncology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and director of the department's residency training program. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Radiation Medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. In his Visiting Assistant Professor role at Maryland he is associated with the Maryland Proton Treatment Center (MPTC). Through an affiliate agreement, he treats patients at MPTC referred from his group, institution, and geographic area and sees additional patients referred back to his institution from the center. His participation at MPTC expands the mid-Atlantic community reach of proton therapy, ensuring that the largest number of patients have access to this life-saving technology.
