Biosketch
Dr. Rohit Menon is a board-certified emergency physician and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with focused postgraduate training in emergency cardiovascular medicine. He completed emergency medicine residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident followed by an Emergency Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
His clinical and academic work centers on time-sensitive cardiovascular diagnosis and resuscitation, including ECG interpretation, point-of-care cardiac ultrasound, dysrhythmias, cardiogenic shock, pulmonary vascular emergencies, and critical care. His scholarship translates high-acuity cardiovascular evidence into practical diagnostic and educational tools. He has published on emergency bradycardia, ventricular tachycardia, traumatic coronary injury, and pericardiocentesis and currently serves as a principal investigator of a 2025-2026 departmental study examining ECG predictors of occlusive myocardial infarction and pulmonary embolism, with emphasis on hyperacute T-wave criteria and right-axis deviation.
He has also contributed to an ECG image library and curriculum for EM:RAP CorePendium. Dr. Menon has also completed the American College of Emergency Physicians Teaching Fellowship and has received multiple teaching awards. He is an active medical educator at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and has delivered lectures nationally and internationally.
At the University of Maryland Medical Center, he practices in an academic emergency department and provides nocturnal critical-care support.
