Biosketch

I concluded 3 years of Ophthalmology residency training at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) in 1987 after which I completed 4 years of fellowship training (1987-1991) in Ocular Immunology and Uveits, and Cornea and Anterior Segment Surgery at the Massachussetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard School of Medicine, Boston, MA. I then joined the full time faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD and have been there ever since. I progressed through the ranks from Instructor to Associate Professor. I served as Chief of Ophthalmology at he Baltimore VA for more than 10 years, Director of Residncey Training for 10 years, and Acting Chair of the Departemnt for 5 years. I was also Head of the Uveitis and Anterior Segment sections or many years. I am currently Clinical Associate Professor in the Department and am clinically active at our main office on Redwood Street, one of our satellite offices in Owings Mills, and both at the Baltimore VA and Midtown Ophthalmology Clinics.
