Biosketch
Kaitlin Griffin, MD, is Chief Resident for the University of Maryland Pediatrics Residency Program and a faculty physician within the Department of Pediatrics. Her clinical and academic interests include pediatric hematology and oncology, medical education, and clinical research.
Dr. Griffin earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine after completing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Business Administration at Louisiana State University. Prior to medical school, she conducted laboratory research in organic chemistry and fluorescent dye synthesis, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications.
At the University of Maryland, Dr. Griffin has continued her scholarly work through research focused on iron deficiency anemia education and pediatric hematology. Her current projects include the development of innovative educational resources related to iron deficiency anemia and investigations into pediatric hematology practice patterns.
In addition to her research activities, Dr. Griffin is actively involved in medical student and resident education, physician leadership, ethics consultation, and community engagement. As Chief Resident, she is committed to advancing trainee development, fostering collaborative learning environments, and promoting excellence in pediatric patient care.
