Biosketch

Dr. Davis is a board-certified emergency physician with extensive clinical experience across a wide range of emergency department practice settings.

In 2005, he co-founded the emergency medicine residency training program at Georgetown University and MedStar Health in Washington, D.C. He subsequently served as Residency Program Director and later as Academic Chair for the department.

Dr. Davis has held numerous leadership roles across medical schools, teaching hospitals, and academic health systems, including System Physician Chair for GME, Designated Institutional Official (DIO), and Senior Associate Dean. His leadership expertise includes propelling strategic initiatives and organizational change, faculty engagement and accountability, physician leadership development, and academic accreditation, regulatory compliance, and governance.

Dr. Davis remains actively engaged in scholarship and national professional organizations through speaking, writing, editing, and educational leadership. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for Rosen’s Emergency Medicine: Concepts and Clinical Practice, a leading emergency medicine textbook. Previously, he served as Chair of the Education Committee for the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and Chair of ACEP’s Educational Meetings Subcommittee.

Dr. Davis received his medical degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1998, where he was awarded the Faculty Gold Medal for Outstanding Qualifications for the Practice of Medicine. He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Stanford University Medical Center, where he received the Award for Most Outstanding Clinical Judgment, Technical Ability, and Knowledge as a graduating resident in 2001.
