Education and Training

I received my PhD from the University of California, Davis in Biochemistry. I then pursued postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Michel Lazdunski (University of Nice, FRANCE) followed by a fellowship with Solomon Snyder (Johns Hopkins Medical School). I then joined the Faculty at the University of Maryland Medical School. I was promoted to Professor in 1991. I was appointed Director of the School of Medicine MD/PhD Program in 1996.

1973-1975: Medical Residency Peter Bent Brigham Hospital.

1975-1978: Pulmonary Fellowship Peter Bent Brigham Hospital

1978-1979: Instructor in Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA

1978-1980: Research Associate, VA Medical Center, West Roxbury, MA

1979-1980: Assistant Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA

1980-1984: Senior Lecturer in Medicine, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Faculty of Health Sciences, Beersheba, Israel
