Biosketch
Dr Aleixes served as a clinician in Brazil, and currently is as a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has experience with caring for critically ill patients in intensive care and emergency settings. His current research focuses on pulmonary fibrosis, fibroblast activation, antifibrotic therapies, and human lung tissue-based models. His long-term goal is to integrate translational research, bedside medicine, and healthcare systems knowledge to improve outcomes for patients with severe diseases.
