Biosketch
Dr. Schrank is an Associate Professor of Medicine and a practicing infectious diseases physician. He sees patients at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where his clinical expertise is in infectious complications after traumatic injury and surgery as well as infectious diseases in the ICU. Additionally, he serves as an Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Hospital Epidemiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center. His research focus spans numerous areas of focus including healthcare associated infections and healthcare quality metrics, diagnostic stewardship, and approaches to prevent infections after complex traumatic injuries particularly orthopaedic trauma.
