Biosketch

Dr. Lai is a faculty physician in the Department of Neurology, Division of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and a diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. As a physiatrist, his goal is to help restore functional ability and quality of life for patients with disabling conditions, such as strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputation, and pain related to musculoskeletal or nerve damage. He has special interests in neuro-rehabilitation, musculoskeletal disorders, and disorders of gait.

Prior to joining the faculty at UMSOM Department of Neurology, he held faculty positions at Sinai Hospital and George Washington University Hospital where he treated a wide range of patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
