Biosketch

Dr. Fredrich joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Neurology in August 2021. She earned her M.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, SC, after which she trained as a neurology resident at the University of Virginia. Following the completion of residency training, she sought neurologic subspecialty training at the University of Texas Southwestern. She completed Autoimmune Neurology Fellowship in 2021, with a special focus on autoimmune encephalitis, paraneoplastic diseases, and demyelinating spectrum disorders including multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein associate diseases, sarcoidosis, and rheumatologic overlay syndromes. Dr. Fredrich works primarily as a clinican-educator through her dual appointment at the University of Maryland Baltimore and the Veterans Affairs Baltimore, providing care for individuals with inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system. She is additionally involved in national clinical trials investigating new mechanisms of action for MS medications. Her personal research interests include healthcare spending with allocation of resources and antibody mediated neurologic diseases. Dr. Fredrich holds board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is involved in the Maryland Center for Multiple Sclerosis Treatment and Research.
