Biosketch

Dr. Butt received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine graduating with honours. He completed his intern year at Baylor College of Medicine and his Neurology residency at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University. He also served as the chief resident of Neurology in his final year and was awarded best rotating pediatric Neurology resident. He completed his fellowship in Houston at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Butt subequently worked as an Assistant Profressor of Neurology at Southern Illinosis University where he worked both in the Neuro Critical Care and the Stroke Unit. He also was the director for Neurology student clerkship and was respsonible for taking the ratings to record high numbers. Dr. Butt than moved to Baltimore to join University of Maryland in April, 2022 as an Assistant Profressor of Neurology and Neuro Critical Care doing both general Neurology and Neuro Critical Care. 

He holds a strong interest in research of stroke and critical care and has published multiple book chapters and presented posters at natrional meetings. He will work alongside Dr. Morris in the simulation center helping train fellows.
