Education and Training

Dr. Allen completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, where he studied political science.  He then completed two years of post-baccalaureate training at the University of Maryland College Park, where he studied chemistry and biology.  He attended medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, graduating in the summer of 2014.  He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center, and was selected to serve as chief resident  Dr. Allen was honored to join faculty as an assistant professor of medicine in July of 2018.  

Biosketch

Dr. Allen joined the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the summer of 2018.  He currently works as a primary care doctor at the Faculty Practice Office on 419 W Redwood St, where he sees adult patients.  He also sees inpatients for general internal medicine, and is an attending on the Med 2 service at the University of Maryland Medical Center.  He is actively involved in medical student and resident education, and he serves as a core faculty member for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.  He is also honored to be a member of the School of Medicine's Office of Student Affairs, where he serves as a medical student adviser.  He is deeply invested in improving medical student wellness and resiliency.  Dr. Allen is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
