Mission
The Office of Health Strategy and Engagement (OHSE) exists within the Dean's Office to serve as a central, forward-thinking hub engaging partners to advance mission-aligned strategy in support of the School of Medicine's vision to foster vibrant and healthy communities through bold discovery science, transformative education, and personalized, equitable patient care.
Strategic Priorities Overview
Guided by this vision, OHSE advances four strategic priorities:
1 Workforce Visibility and Success
Recognize and celebrate all School of Medicine community member contributions and achievements while complementing institutional efforts to recruit, retain, and advance talented faculty, staff, and trainees who further the mission of the institution.
2 Health Access for All
Advance access to high quality health care for all, from the rural Eastern Shore to West Baltimore, and in collaboration with the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS).
3 Educational Excellence
Provide high-quality and accessible education for all School of Medicine members that enhances and strengthens respect and understanding for all backgrounds and experiences.
4 Community-Engaged Research
Model bidirectional strategic community and academic partnerships that inform and engage our institutional research endeavors.
