Biosketch

Dr. Breakey graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biology from Gannon University in 2012. He went on to earn his medical degree at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, graduating in 2016. After graduation, he completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Breakey joined the faculty in 2019 as an academic hospitalist at UMMC. In his clinical role, Dr. Breakey serves as a hospitalist physician for the Transplant Medicine team as well as for the General Internal Medicine teaching and non-teaching services. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Breakey has been appointed Clinical Instructor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he currently works as a course instructor for the longitudinal Practice of Medicine course offered to first and second year medical students.
