Dean Reece commented:

“I was delighted to see the new ranking from U.S. News & World Report, which places us among the top 10 public medical schools in the nation!  Overall, we are ranked #27 of the 188 medical schools in the U.S., our highest ranking ever!

I want to congratulate each of you for this public affirmation of our leadership and success.  As you will see in figure 1, we have advanced dramatically into the upper echelon of medical schools, moving up from #42 in 2006.  This parallels our tremendous growth in total research funding during this period.  Most of all, I want to acknowledge the strong leadership of our chairs and directors – and the dedication and resilience of our faculty and staff.  It is this collective effort that has enabled our relentless focus on the mission of discovery-based medicine.

My heartfelt congratulations on this outstanding achievement!”
