Dr. Ryan Spangler has been selected to receive the 2025 Babak J. Jamasbi, MD ’89 Award for Medical Educator of the Year from the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Medical Education Leadership Academy (MELA).

This prestigious award recognizes faculty members who have made an outstanding impact on medical education through educational innovation, mentorship, and excellence in teaching. Ryan was recognized for his leadership in advancing Emergency Medicine education, developing new educational programs, mentoring students, and creating meaningful opportunities for learners to grow and succeed.
