The Department's new YouTube series: University of Maryland Emergency Medicine Rapid Rounds: EM Grand Rounds & Conversations with Experts is now live on our channel! 

Created to expand the Department's educational reach, Rapid Rounds showcases evidence-based emergency medicine education from our faculty experts and supports ongoing learning for healthcare professionals within our institution and across the broader emergency medicine community, all while bringing knowledge right to your fingertips. 

The inaugural episode features Assistant Professor Kathleen Stephanos, MD and Associate Professor Regina Macatangay, MD presenting Pediatric Sickle Cell Disease Treatment Advice. This discussion focuses on the recognition, management, and treatment of pediatric patients with sickle cell disease in the emergency setting. 

As a Department with nationally recognized expertise in sickle cell disease care and research, we are proud to highlight this important topic, particularly given its impact on the Baltimore communities we serve. 

New episodes will be released every three weeks and will feature faculty experts discussing emerging clinical topics, innovations in care delivery, and advances in emergency medicine practice. The series was designed with busy clinicians in mind and allows for asyncronous learning at viewers' convenience.
