Anesthesiology

Research

Each fellow is expected to engage in a scholarly project related to acute or chronic pain management. This typically includes a literature review, protocol development, and submission to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) by the end of the fellowship year. Dedicated research time is provided, and fellows meet regularly with the anesthesiology research coordinator and/or mentor for guidance and support.

Completion of a scholarly activity is a core program expectation. Acceptable forms include poster presentations at national or regional meetings, peer-reviewed publications, or other equivalent academic contributions. A well-executed research project generally fulfills this requirement.

We recognize the time limitations inherent in a one-year fellowship, and the program is structured to provide practical support and mentorship that help fellows achieve meaningful scholarly output within the training period.
