Dr. Yijia Li Awarded the 2026 AHA Postdoctoral Fellowship

Yijia Li, MD/PhD, a postdoctoral fellow in the Anesthesiology Translational Research Program, has been awarded the highly competitive 2026 American Heart Association (AHA) Postdoctoral Fellowship for her project, “Role of the TLR7–Itgam Pathway in Myocardial Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury.”

This prestigious fellowship provides national recognition and supports Dr. Li’s innovative research investigating how extracellular nucleic acid–sensing pathways respond to transient ischemia and regulate downstream leukocyte–endothelial interactions that contribute to myocardial injury. Her work aims to identify novel therapeutic targets to reduce myocardial infarction and improve clinical outcomes following acute ischemic events.
