Obstetric Anesthesiology Chief awarded SOAP’s 2023 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Bhavani Shankar Kodali, MBBS, MD, Professor and Chief of the Obstetric Anesthesiology Division. Dr. Kodali was awarded Teacher of the Year - Greater than 10 years, at the 2023 Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) Annual Meeting held in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The SOAP Teacher of the Year award recognizes outstanding physicians of obstetric anesthesiology who have demonstrated superior teaching primarily of anesthesiology residents and fellows and secondarily of obstetricians, nurses, midwives, and the lay public.

Congratulations to the Obstetric Anesthesiology Division of the Department of Anesthesiology on being awarded SOAP’s 2019 Center of Excellence (COE) for Anesthesia Care of Obstetric Patients’ Designation. This 4-year certificate recognizes institutions and programs that set a benchmark level of expected care to improve the standards nationally and to provide a broad surrogate quality metric of institutions providing obstetric anesthesia care.
