Congratulations to Thelma B. Wright, MD, JD, MBA, Associate Professor as she accepts the “gavel” as president of the medical staff and chair of the Medical Executive Committee (MEC) at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopedic Institute; from the outgoing president Syed Ashfaq Hasan, MD. As chair of MEC, she will have vital input on making key leadership decisions related to medical staff policies, procedures, and rules, with an emphasis on quality control and quality improvement initiatives.
